Formerly "Beacon Utilities" or "Beacon Light & Power", BEACON is the leading provider of electricity and generation systems world-wide. With the exception of Japan, China, and Russia, BEACON is solely responsible for rebuilding the infrastructure of the power grid in almost every developed country since the collapse. Their main office is in Metro North, but they have offices all over the world. The main office for BEACON US SOUTH is in Crescent City.
In 2029 BEACON Utilities quadrupled their number of employees. They went state by state and region by region to fortify America's power grid, installing a triple-layer of fail-safes and backup systems. Founder Reiner Butler poured millions of his own money to ensure America's power grid is safe from any future disasters.
In 2033 when the United States split into five independent regions, ARIN, with the help of NETWATCH and BEACON Utilities severed all physical connections between the different regions' Internets and implemented a new form of security between the separate networks.
In 2037 BEACON partnered with ORIAX to connect their test bed fusion reactor to the Southern U.S. powergrid. The technology is a success. Four southern cities continue to rely on the fusion plant to this day.
The CEO of BEACON is James Roberts and the VP in charge of the Crescent City office is Henry Swann.
