by Luc Devlin Veteran Detective is Ready to Put Down his Badge and Gun
This Sunday, officers at the Crescent City Police DeSolee Precinct will be honoring the 50-year career of veteran detective Ephraim Bussard. Bussard first put on the badge in 2005 in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. A young man growing up in the hard-hit Ninth Ward, Bussard saw a city devastated and a community in dire need of help. He joined the police academy and by the end of 2005, graduated at the top of his class. Detective Bussard quickly rose the ranks and garnered respect from all those around him. In 2019 Detective Bussard worked tirelessly to reunite friends and family in the wake of Hurricane Ida. Bussard was a lucky survivor of the AGDISTIS Disaster in 2029, though the severe heat and radiation of the event would leave him forever scarred. Most recently Bussard played a key role in the Atomic Butcher case and has been working diligently on uncovering the so-called “Naraka Cult” up to the day of his retirement. When asked what he plans to do with retirement, Bussard told us “I’ve been threatening my wife Daisy that I’ll be fixing up that old shrimp boat down in the harbor. I expect now with the time on my hands she’ll be expecting me get started.”
