On the trail of a murderer

General Summary

After some discussion about the elf Amara at The Hag & Hound, the party decided to explore the tunnels found under the home of the late Forthwind Keenseeker.
Exploration of the tunnels proved to be an arduous task, as they had fallen into disrepair. Support beams rotted, cobwebs and dust-covered nearly every surface, but a breeze moved wistfully through the tunnel, driving the party to find an exit.
Twists and turns through the tunnels lead to uncertainty where beneath the city the team was, but they pressed on. Eventually, after some exploration from Isla through the eyes of a feline familiar, the party discovered two doors down two separate tunnels that resembled the one where they entered. Both were found to be locked, however one was trapped. Poison darts shot down the tunnel as the party attempted to find cover.
After the incident at the locked doors, almost two hours down the path at the T intersection behind them, the party was beset upon by swarms of spiders and giant wolf spiders. After a short twenty seconds of intense combats, the use of torches and flame spells lit the webbing ablaze, engulfing the cave. The party dove to the ground in an attempt to not be choked out by the smoke and the remaining spiders dispersed. The remains of some unfortunate souls who had come before were discovered and with it a bit of treasure.
The team continued down the tunnels, following the breeze. As they continued they discovered a cave in that revealed an ancient temple. An eldritch purple glow emanated from behind the altar, which was covered in rusted, old chains and the dust of ancient blood. As some of the party investigated and others guarded the entrance, a guttural hissing sound filled the chamber. Previously coiled around one of the pillars, a monstrous snake-like creature rose, it's tentacled face opening to expose a massive, razor-sharp beak.
