Old Cysiasyl
Old Cysiansyl came from the old world during the Nomadic Era after being updated. It is used, for the most part, in large cities and capitals as a more formal form of language and writing due to its roots in history. Because of this, there are technically two forms of the language, though the older form has begun to vanish. The language is the foundation of many world and names used even during the transition to Common.
Writing System
Their alphabet has a standard 26 letter alphabet, each letter directly translating into English. It is written by drawing a perfectly straight line across the parchment. From this line, there are 30 different characters used on the line. From the line, drawing both above and below, letters and symbols(space/hyphen, comma/period, question mark/exclamation point, and apostrophe/quotation mark).
Pictured above is an image of a sample of the alphabet.
Geographical Distribution
Now a dying language, many of cultures still use it as a more proper, and specifically royal, tongue. It is found in varying use in the South as well as having a denser population of use in the capital city of the North.
Morphology
Words are formatted in loose structures. Very few rules apply, however pronunciation comes into the mix. The main rules are that nouns much begin and end with a consonant while adjectives have to begin with a vowel and end with a consonant to allow combining of words. All other words can be formatted in any way, though may come from a noun root. Beyond that, there are few other rules beyond a generalization that consonants will rarely stack over two deep and vowels can be stacked as long as the same letters can be used in two vowel combination sounds(ex. aea is allowed/ex. aei is not allowed).
Syntax
When spoken, Old Cysiasyl has a different organization. It is ordered based on importance. Beginning with the prepositional phrase(an optional phrase[ex. "on the bed"]), the structure leads into verb, time setting(an optional phrase[ex. Afterwards,]), and lastly noun. However, as adjectives are not included, they are meshed into the noun. The nouns, which always begin and end with a consonant, can have an adjective attached at the end of the word. Adjectives will always begin with a vowel and end in a consonant, allowing them to be stacked after the noun. Verbs are treated different as well, as they will always end with a consonant followed by a vowel; the vowel is the significant part as it will represent the tense of verbs. Adding a 'u' to the end implies a past tense, an 'e' will imply present tense, and and 'i' will imply future tense. For the use of plural words, adding a 'c'(ch) to the end makes a word, specifically nouns, plural.
