Helmfirth

A port town located on the shores of The Sea of Echoes. The town has suffered several devastating attacks over the years; it was assaulted by Thalassian ships during the War of Retribution, suffered heavy casualties at the Battle for Yellowseed in 369 S.A., endured fiendish occupation of the Sea Daemon fleet during the Dreadlands' occupation and was one of two final skirmish sites during the end of said occupation in 371 S.A.

Landmarks

An artificial reef formed by the shipwrecked Sea Daemon fleet can be found near the harbour and functions, ironically, as adequate defense against future seaborne assaults.

History

When the Sea Daemon fleet made their approach in 371 S.A, they found their ships sabotaged and rapidly sinking in the harbour before ever making landfall. Perhaps the first act of good fortune Helmfirth had ever encountered, and it was not to last long. The wrathful, manic demons aboard the ship quickly set about firing as many arrows and ballistae as they could manage before they sunk beneath the tide. One such bolt soared from the deck of the Sea Daemon's flagship and struck the Lord Rivan Foxwind, Baron of Helmfirth, dead instantly. The Baron had no heir.
