Kruthik

Kruthiks are reptilian hybrids of an insect and a drake that vaguely resembles a canine covered in plates of thick, silvery chitin.

Adventurer's Notes

Wild kruthiks hunt in packs. The younglings swarm in a vicious horde, raking the target to pieces while the adults hurl toxic spines before engaging in close combat. Their thick chitin is tightly-woven with few weak points, and they have an unnatural sense to detect even the most minute of vibrations through the earth so long as they have contact to the ground. 
The chitinous plates would likely make fine armor, and their sharp claws could be fashioned into similarly rust-proof weaponry.
