The annihilator

This is a powerful and misunderstood artifact. All the small group of witness about the function of this devices have a misconception, then the reason about its name "the annihilator", cause all that remains behind is "nothing" (like in the case of the The big crate ) but in reality this device "change the placement" of all surroundings in space, time or even plane. 
Is an ancient mechanical clock made of metal and glass with gears. Have arcane glyphs engraved in the border in front and a large one in the back.
Front:  Has a metallic ring with glyphs and a glass that covers a complicated groups of gears.
Back: Has a large glyph engraved, emits a soft blue shine from it.
Left:  A single "button" made of metal can be pressed to "confirm" the settings of the device.
Right:  Have 3 metallic bars that can be rotated, each one controls parts of the inside gears, setting some kind of configuration

Top bar: When rotated a small "sun" that moves in circles in front of all other mechanism.

medium bar: When rotated a pair of metallic pellets both sides of the inside mechanism, go up or down. 

                      If pressed: the rotation then moves the single pellet at the bottom.

Bottom bar: When rotated 4 metallic gears behind the small one, connects or disconnects in this sequence:  none, a pair, a triple the four gears connected.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Has 3 major components: 
Bars with pellets 3 bars that moves pellets: two both sides and one in the bottom. this are controlled by the medium bar at the right of the device.
This can set the Longitude and Latitude of the planet. 
Single small circular sun  An disc made gem resembling a sun, rotates linked to the top bar at the right of the device. 
This counts hours, days or even years: positive rotation, to the past; negative rotation, to the future.
Four medium gears Four gears that can form connections: pairs, triples or be all connected or none at all.  
This change the space or the dimension.
This is a complex magical device used to "travel": In space, time or even between planes.

Significance

This artifact is buried in the The big crate has no relevance right now and because no one understands how it works normally is keep hidden even from scholars.
