Village of Veridia: Ruins of an Ancient Dispute

Veridia, a name that evokes the lushness of vegetation and the fertility of the land, was once a thriving town known for its rich culture and deep connection to nature. However, a conflict over an ancestral statue and the transformation of the central square into rice farmland led to its tragic ruin.
After the The two four war the town fell because the main trade was with the elves.

    The origins of the conflict:
The central square of Veridia was home to an imposing statue of Extli, a deity revered by the inhabitants as protector of the land and guarantor of prosperity. Legends narrate that Eztli descended from heaven in this place thousands of years ago, blessing the earth and bestowing wisdom on his people.
The legend is only part true Eztli descended but only to cause havoc upon the original people that inhabit this land, and then the humans founded Veridia.

The arrival of the Saurians:
In the aftermath of the devastating war, a community of saurians, known for their mastery of elemental magic, approached Veridia intending to help humans recover from famine. The saurians, led by Ziyat, an old and wise shaman, proposed transforming the central square into arable land for rice, a cereal that could feed the population and ensure their survival.

A latent conflict:
Ziyat's proposal met resistance from a group of devout Eztli residents, who considered the statue a sacred symbol and the central plaza a place of deep spiritual connection. Ixchel, a priestess of Eztli, led this group of fanatics, convinced that the transformation of the plaza was an affront to the deity and would bring misfortune to the people.

The conflict intensifies:
Despite attempts at dialogue and mediation, tension between Ixchel's supporters and other villagers grw. Eztli's fans, consumed by his religious fervor, began to vandalize rice crops, blaming the deity for the food shortages that persisted.

The final tragedy:
In an act of desperation and fanaticism, Ixchel's followers succeed in destroying the crops, believing that it will appease the deity's wrath and bring prosperity back. However, their action caused the demised of Veridian, leaving only ruins of what was once a thriving town.

Veridia: A reminder of intolerance:
The ruins of Veridia serve as a sad reminder of the consequences of intolerance and bigotry. The lack of dialogue, misunderstanding, and the search for extreme solutions led to the destruction of a people and its cultural legacy. The story of Veridia invites us to reflect on the importance of tolerance, mutual respect, and the search for peaceful solutions to conflicts.
