Personality
Paragraph(s) describing the character's personality. Has it evolved over time? If so, why?Story
Before the fall of Heaven, Midas was a shy and extremely introverted character; often, he got overlooked, too small and quiet to be noticed, leaving him alone with his thoughts. He considered himself to be a good and moral person, though he struggled to relate to the happiness of others, sometimes even finding himself envious. When Heaven fell, Midas collapsed with it, and when the dust settled, he changed. It started with an inner conflict of the heart. A long buried resentment, risen to the surface - why did others get to be happy, when he did not? Part of him fought this poisonous thought, but despite his best efforts, its strength only grew. One half of his soul raged against the perceived unfairness of the world, while the other held onto hope and compassion in spite of suffering.
That's when the mutation happened - a second snake head splitting off from the first. Each represented the two voices inside him, one calling for vengeance, the other for mercy. They came to act as advisors, each with a contradictory opinion, always with opposite advice, but at least they pulled the conflicted thoughts from his head.
Yet, the worst was to come. His long-endured loneliness, his growing aggravation, the stress of his world and life falling apart; it spawned a new threat in the form of gamites. They were few and seemingly timid at first, not unlike himself, but soon their numbers grew, and their reticence evaporated, turning into aggression. Midas succumbed to the harshest change of all: corruption.
