First Shadow

Lord of Shadows

An entity born from the Shadow Realm's Realmcore the first intelligent life to be born in the Shadow Realm, He has existed since the birth of the Shadow Realm and held unfathomable power, however he was seduced and fell in love with Aya (Raven Queen) until one night she stole a portion of his power and in the process tearing a piece of his soul. He was betrayed by the Raven Queen and was unable to regain his former power. His soul had been torn and his heart shattered by her betrayal. With an incomplete soul he had fallen from his position as Lord of Shadow he was challenged by the other Lords of Shadow and his power proved insufficient for him to maintain his position as First Lord. After many defeats he sunk into despair and severe depression and hid himself from those seeking to challenge him. The First Shadow became a recluse, however he still roams the Shadow Realm always searching for a way to get stronger.
After many years of searching, the First Shadow was able to make contact with creatures of the Material Realm, although he wanted to travel and aquire power from the Material plane, his link to the Realmcore renders him unable to leave the Shadow Realm. Unlike the other shadow creatures and mortals from the Material Realm who can freely move between the two. He then began searching for a way to bypass this limitation. He found that he could make contact with mortals and began searching for vulnerable mortals who were in desperate need of power. He would make a deal with those in need, promising them great power in return for servitude. He promised he could teach them and grant them power over the shadows and other magic that would make his contractors powerful in the Material Realm. He would do this in exchange for elemental crystals and other powerful magic items that could help him heal his soul.
The First Shadow is biding his time in order to regain enough strength to destroy the Raven Queen and her people in order to regain his missing power.

Contracts made with the First Shadow endows the contractor with Shadow Magic and powers pertaining to the Laws of Shadow. The first Shadow is patient and does not constantly harrass his contractors for items but will withdraw his power if he feels his contractors are not acting in his best interest.
He often talks to his contractors offering them advice and answering questions they might have. Since he is a being that has existed longer than even some Gods he has a vast knowledge of things which can be utilized by his contractors, however knowledge always comes at a price.
