Dragoncat

The Dragoncat is the feared mythical creature of the Drake Commune, symbolizing ultimate fierceness and power. Even though their existence has never been witnessed or proven outside of the commune's sacred texts, the believers have grown up hearing many cautionary tales of the Dragoncat's destruction of the unfaithful - a series of horrific events where most of the nation was decimated. Worship of the Dragoncat can be traced back to the beginnings of the Age of Civilization - more than a thousand years ago.   Dragoncats are described by the believers as beasts of claws and lightning, soaring through the skies at incredible speed and hunting all they deem unworthy to live. They fight in packs, much like Lions or Kobolds themselves.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are described as creatures able to move as fast as lightning, avoiding detection to strike unseen. They have a combination of scales and fur, although in some carvings they're depicted as smooth and translucent like Spirits.

Growth Rate & Stages

Strangely all Dragoncats have been described as roughly the same size despite Dragons' notoriety to be all over the place when it comes to that.

Behaviour

To the outside eye it is clear that all their described behaviour is rather strange. They appear in hordes, hunt the unworthy, then disappear. It more closely resembles the behaviour of a storm than that of a creature, which is why it's a popular passtime to debate among beginners in Creature Science.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The sources are all over the place when it comes to their sensing capabilities. The current theory is that Dragoncats posess a wide radius of Blindsight, but Researchers find it unlikely.
