Galanak's Token
A braided cord or bracelet with a specially-stamped coin attached that acts as a symbol to slaves seeking freedom.
As a slave-using kingdom, Zarglyf boasts an excess of corruption and crime. Slave catchers and merchants wage constant economic battle over the slave market, with slaves and often regular citizens caught in the middle. Although Glyfen law states that Zarglyf's native citizens cannot be enslaved, debt-collection and criminal justice laws counter that by declaring it legal to force a citizen to work off a debt as a slave. Sadly, many such slaves wind up entangled so deeply in the corrupt system that they never regain their freedom.
The Token
Among Zarglyf's citizenry are those who not only refuse to buy or trade slaves, but actively try to help them escape their owners. Calling themselves "slaverunners", a term which can be taken multiple ways, they mark themselves with either a bracelet or hair adornment of braided leather with a small iron coin attached to it. The braid is down in a very specific pattern of red, gold, and blue, colors often associated with Caer Thalion and Etherea, and the coin is stamped with an elephant as a symbol of Galanak, who Glyfens consider the god of freedom as well as peace. The coins are made intentionally to look like many similar adornments, and when combined with the braid is a symbol to all slaves: the wearer is a friend who will help them.Other Appearances
Some slaverunners are unable to wear a bracelet or adorn their hair due to professional uniform or other societal restrictions. In such cases, they will often get a tattoo on the inside of their wrist that depicts an elephant encircled by the braided pattern. Others might carry a white piece of cloth bearing the same image.Found/Used In:

Rarity
Though more common than many would think, tokens of Galanak are a well-guarded secret. If the slave merchants and lords were to find out about them, their purpose would cease.
