Ashes of Darkness
Ashes of darkness is the dusty substance that is collected from the inner layers of the skin of an Abomination. This substance is highly coveted by clerics in particular, as it is a useful ingredient for spells and rituals involving light.

Crumbly, deep purple-blue dust. Feels almost silky.
Physical & Chemical Properties
It is weirdly cold, and doesn't seem to adjust to the temperature of the area.
Origin & Source
Ashes of darkness are found almost solely on abominations, although a few other darkness beasts have been found to have yielded ashes after their death. It is inconsistent, and abominations are the only consistent known source.
Life & Expiration
Ashes stay as is for quite some time, although the more exposed to light they are, the faster they will decay into uselessness. Upon decay, the ashes lose their colour and gain an appearance similar to regular household dust. At this point, the ashes are unusable for any of their original purpose.

Everyday use
Their common use is mainly with clerics for light rituals, however they do burn in fire fantastically.
