"Our ancestral hero saved all of Orc-kind from extinction when it faced down the mighty beast."
On one of the larger islands in the Old World sits a single, lone eye. It belonged to a great beast called the Gonesh that existed many centuries ago. The eye is a source of pride among the
Orcs, for it was the prize they got when an ancient Orc hero slayed the beast all those centuries ago. Legend says the community rolled the eye back from the beast's cave to the
Shattered Lands, where the Orcs reside today.
Appearance
The beast's eye is well-preserved by the Orcs, and hasn't decayed over the years. The eye is huge and is said to be as large as a Dragon's eyeball. It does not have an iris but a slitted pupil instead. The pupil faces the coast of the island to scare away any unwanted visitors (which is usually most of them). Orcs will tell any persistent visitors that despite being detached from its host for centuries, the eye can still see. What exactly it sees, they don't say.
The front of the eye also has a great hole on its surface. According to legend, this used to be a wound from when the hero stabbed the beast in its eye, causing it to fall. However, no-one seems to know location of the beast's body or where the battle took place.

Because of its size, many wonder how the Orcs managed to get the eye all the way to the Shattered Lands in the Old World. Orcs say that their ancestors rolled the Gonesh eye across the calmer waters of the continent from their original homeland after the beast was defeated. Legend says they saw a sign that it was time to move to greener pastures and they took the sign, bringing their prized trophy to scare away any enemies.
Each time they stopped at an island, they'd place the Gonesh eye near the ports to face the sea. When it was time to move once again, they would hold a festival in celebration of their hero the night before leaving. This seemed to have happened for many decades before the Orcs finally settled in their current homeland.
