Week 1

WorldEmber Pledge

Area of Focus

I decided to build an entirely different world so I could look at a different story. For WorldEmber, my focus will be on parts of the Eastern Continent. I want to look at the main countries in the continent, and the ethnic groups that live there. If I get bored, I'll also add a few characters to Dankar. I didn't get to 10,000 words last time, or plan my worldbuilding properly, but I will try to do both this year.

Week 2

Scope

My story will most likely take place in the Eastern Continent (the Known World), so I will be writing articles on the countries inside it. I'll also focus on their cultures and traditions to explore how people live. People's powers are an important part of how they live, so I'll also write about those.

Goals

My goal is to set the rules of this world (something I didn't do too well in Nonagarn), so I don't get confused when writing. I also want to create the initial setting that my characters will be in, and how everything works.
My secondary goal is to think of names for the continent, the cultures, and the countries inside. If I have time, I'll also write an introduction to the world, but probably when I've completed my other goals.

Inspirations

One of my larger inspirations will be the anime and live-action versions of One Piece, since that is what inspired me to make this world. I'll also take inspiration from games like Genshin Impact and Sky: Children of the Light, for the history of Dankar.

Week 3

I've not got much to say for this week's homework but I've updated my elevator pitch for my homepage. It's still a new world, so as time goes on, hopefully, I'll be able to add more things to make my homepage more interesting to look at. For now, here is my elevator pitch. Let me know if it needs updating, because I can be a clunky writer!

"When some ancient technology is discovered, everyone is keen to grab a piece. This technology might be the key to finding the Sentinels, the ancient beings who once roamed the lands. However, no-one knows much about the history of Dankar or even what the Sentinels are.
To find them, a group of adventurers must explore the vast lands of Dankar and bridge the spiritual realms with the physical realms. However, the more of Dankar that's discovered, the more anxious the United Government gets. What is this world hiding? And how much knowledge is too much?"

Week 4

Like last time, I haven't got much to write about for this week's homework. However, I did find some days that I could write in when I'm not studying. I've been using Obsidian to make some notes on what will be in my articles, and roughly how they'll be structured. There are also many other websites and apps I've used to help me expand this world more. I'll also use some worldbuilding prompts, and I might start drawing, to help with inspiration if I need it.
