The Federation accepts all currencies within its borders, but it uses its own currency, minted by the Shard of the City, for all official transactions. Soulgeld is made of a unique metal dug from unknown mines. It has a faint lilac hue, and is imprinted with the sigil of the Order on one side, and the dome of Orden on the other. It has unique properties in that it is keyed to citizens of the Order. Only citizens can use it, and once keyed to a citizen, it is impossible for someone else to spend at (official) stores and locations. A Soulgeld can be used as a debit card of sorts. If the coin being placed upon a device, the correct amounts of coins are withdrawn from the citizen's account. Foreign currencies can be added to the geld at Federation licensed banks (with a tidy percentage taken as a tithe).
