The Act of Bravery

Contains major spoilers for Blood Bound, book 2 of the Bound Series.
Originally made of gold, the medal was quickly switched to bronze, yet kept its small round disk shape. Embedded into it is a white onyx flowery moon shape centered around the outline of a wolf's head. This very medal is not to be worn but simply displayed, i.e. in a case or a picture frame on the wall. Known to be handed to those who enact great acts of bravery upon freeing Exotic Pets from the grasp of the Itude Empire, this medal started being awarded around 1852 EoL. All acts of bravery involving Exotic Pet freedom are to be fact-checked, and if the recipient is caught lying, the medal is taken and the liar is stripped down one pack rank.
Resting upon the podium sat a black box, closed until further notice. Jack watched Dad step forward, a smile creeping across both their faces.

Lucian McClain: "For your great efforts to risk the wrath of the Empire once more and freeing Crown Prince Lukas Vonami, Daniel Mi, and Kyle Fenikkusu, you, Jack McClain, are being awarded the Act of Bravery."

Jack bowed his head in respect. Honestly, he didn't care about the award. Seeing Kěith have his friends back was all Jack needed.

Jack McClain: "Thank you, Da- Ahem. Alpha."

Blood Bound, book 2 of the Bound Series snippet

Execution

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Alpha of the pack calls for a pack meeting, where the pack gathers to listen to whatever new information on the war the Alpha has gathered, any new laws being put into place, or a ceremony about to be held. In this instance, the Act of Bravery ceremony is about to begin.   The Alpha will give a short speech about the bravery committed, mentioning the recipient by name, and even announcing the Exotic Pets now freed. Once finished, the Alpha will call the recipient on stage, where they are awarded the act of bravery medal. A clasp on each other's forearms and a pressing of their foreheads concludes the ceremony, where dinner is held at the Alpha Cabin in honor of the recipient.

Observance
The act of bravery is reported straight to the Beta or Alpha, in which the names of former Exotic Pets are given to the Alpha to verify. If the former Exotic Pets can vouch for the recipient, the Alpha goes ahead with having an act of bravery medal crafted. Once made, the Alpha will call for the ceremony.
