Sleep Mask

Sleep masks are thin, paper-like sheets of win imbued with Mind magicks that allow easier sleep for the user. Despite the name, the mask is not worn on the face, but placed over the chest while lying down or sitting.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Sleep masks are simple tools - they simply carry a small amount of Mind magic that allows for a single use spell to put the user to sleep.
They are used with win because the material can hold magic, unlike Foren, and is durable enough to withstand light movements, such as those seen during restless sleep cycles.

History

There is no one creator of sleep masks as they are known today. The same magic used in the sheets of win can be traced all the way back to the first 100s of years of Darwinian history. At some point, the magic was transferred to a physical medium, presumably out of some kind of production or storage necessity.
Sleep masks of the present day come in various different sizes, strengths, and materials, though by far the most common are those used on the chest and created for average adult-elf size.
