Fidelium

The deification of the User is by no means a new concept, but there are those that take it farther than others. More than just invoking the User's name as a curse or in a vague hope of things getting better.   The Fidelium is a growing movement that has cropped up in the wake of the Second Crash mostly in the Fringes of Datum. While largely dismissed as harmless and at times lunatics, their numbers are growing...

Structure

The exact extent of Fidelium's membership is rather nebulous and unknown, as their most visible components are essentially street corner preachers across Datum. What is known is that all of the group's members seem to report to a common source in the form of a program named Juno Stroud.

Public Agenda

Fidelium preachers state that the System is in a state of chaos following the Infection and the Second Crash, and the last time there was this sort of cataclysm the User personally stepped into bring The Upgrade and raise Datum and the System to new heights.   None of that is really under dispute, but the points of contention come from the rather obvious observation that the User hasn't reappeared to fix things like they did after the First Crash. Or, for that matter, that there has been no contact with the User since 1433 V2, which was 19,485 years ago. Common opinion is that the User isn't coming back and the programs of Datum are on their own.   The Fidelium, meanwhile, believe that the User is still their salvation, but their lack of intervention comes from a belief that the User is watching and does not believe that the current state of the Server is worse than what prompted their intervention after the First Crash. Following from this, they preach a need to find a way to reach out to the User to get them to intervene, and by doing so wipe away the Infection and bring about another golden age for the Server.
"The User will come and breach through the darkness to be our salvation, and he will break for us a new dawn."   ~ Juno
