Drake

(name is a placeholder)   Drakes are a small to medium sized ominous quadruped that fulfill the role of alpha predator in many regions.  They live primarily in temperate and semi-arid areas and can be either solitary or live in prides.   Their most distinctive feature are the wart-like growths on their heads, which run from the tip of their snout to the back of their heads.  These growths harden and spread as they age, especially on and around the ears, eventually rendering said ears immobile, turning them into pseudo-horns, though they are not nearly as durable as the real thing.   For smaller, pride-living breeds, it is possible for a Daukla to domesticate a Drake when caught young enough.  If treated well, such drakes become loyal companions for life.
