Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is a festival that takes place on the 14th of Solanis in mid summer. Both the longest day of the year and the darkest nights of the year coincide on the same night as both moons, Galla and Lobeh, are in the new moon phase.
This is a national holiday with in the drocian empire and there are variations of the it across the world, as it is seen in some cultures as a sign of Ill omen or a sign of good luck depending on where you are.
Celebrations across the empire usually include large amounts of drinking, dancing, and some form of recognition or prayer for the retuning light of the moon. Many people put out decorations in pale pinks and greens matching the coloration of these two celestial bodies. Every city with in the Drocian empire has two locations that people gather to dance and sing. Towards the end of the evenings events when it’s still dark out people start to light lanterns to send floating up into the sky in the two colors of the moons. These serve as an effort to ignite the sky in the two colors even on the darkest night as if they moons ever cease to shine who knows what will come from with in the darkest corners of this realm, as the prophecy states there will be darkness for good when the moons are gone.
As much of this time is used as celebration by the majority of people, some see it as a time of mourning and remembrance for what they’ve lost. For those they often gather and head out of the city for the night to local hills, or high points to get closer to the heavens and embrace the dark star lit sky to mourn.
