Knowledge Keepers

The group known as the Knowledge Keepers was founded early on after the Cladeon. During the communal era it was agreed upon that there was a great importance to document, store and then subsequently protect the knowledge of society. Every detail from how to farm, how languages work and known history to the ongoing progression of society and whatever will happen in the future needs to be obtained and documented in case the illithid rise again. In the current Age of Exploration all noble courts are equipped with a member of this order who documents the proceedings so that they will be documented in Kings Isle and saved. In addition to noble courts, large guilds such as the Stone Brawlers will have a member assigned to them as well to document how they work and what they do. Beyond guilds and noble courts there aren’t many places where these Knowledge Keepers show up regularly.   This creates a void in what history is documented. The day to day lives of the common folk, their small town dealings and news almost never are documented by the Knowledge Keepers. This has led to most commoners coming up with mocking names for these guild members such as Scriblers. In addition to giving them nicknames the some commoners have resigned themselves to the fact that their history is unimportant in the eyes of high society and find great joy in providing false information to them. When given the chance they have. A tendency to weave a tale that may be a bit far fetched but never enough to not be believable.   As they document history the Knowledge Keepers spend a lot of time trying to decipher truth from fiction, since they can’t be everywhere at once this is a near impossible task. Their main base of operations is located in Kings Isle where they guard the secrets they keep with great care, for the information there has the ability to possibly topple empires and change the world in its modern make up.
