Sondekor

On the cold northern shores of Zinedor myths and legends speak about a creature called Sondekor, the sky serpent. Sondekor is the monstrous elemental, a creature of both water and air, the oldest of three siblings. Sondekor has two siblings, a brother Arulius and a sister Hyqualia. The story of their creation and subsequent battles is as follows: Eons ago before the cladeon a great elementalist Galrack was attempting to bring forth creatures of immense elemental energy from the planes to help control the tides, the seas and the storms. In a brash attempt to simply life he firsts summoned a creature from both the plains of air and water believing one being strong enough to do as he needed. Sondekor arrived to the material plane but was never intending to help for the conflicting turmoil caused by the two elemental energies gave him great anger with in. This manifested in storms a which began to batter the coast of the continent. Sondekor had broken free of Galracks control, and the elemental energies refused to be controlled. For 10 years these storms and waves battled the edge of the land pushing against it rising mountains from the sea as Nigrius Mountains were formed.   During these ten years Galrack brought forth the other two creatures, Arulius and Hyqualia, one from the plane of air and one from the plane of water. Together they fought against Sondekor and kept him in balance, sometimes he rages out and breaks through sending a vicious storm against the land but the majority of the time he is calmer now.   Many sailors now will make offerings to Sondekor in hopes of smooth sailing to make it out of port and to their destination. The majority of his outbursts come in the winter when temperatures are cold and sea spray begins to ice the buildings along the shore forming an ice coverage over everything.
