The Village of Eras

Deep within the deep steep peaks of the shieldmaidens the small isolated village of Eras lives in the mountains, sustaining themselves off of snowmelt for water and what food they can hunt and gather. This is a rather unremarkable place, rock huts covered in animal furs, caves with a few small fire pits and with pelts laid out to be beds to make some warmer places to reside. One cave garners more attention that the rest however, cause within it their god, the mountain speaker exists. The tribe's people found it years ago while they were exploring the caves for food. Now only the Chief, and the two tribal guides are allowed to enter his throne room.   Elevated above them the mountain speaker sits in a box, faced with glass hung by metallic vines. The tribal guides kneel below it on a pedestal crafted from similar vines and hexagonal stones. This pedestal reaches up from the void below, the mountain speaker makes sure that the tribe's folk are protected from the creatures of the depths and does its best to prevent them from escaping and pillaging the village. Or at least that’s the story it tells them.   If any scholar from the Institute of Historical Intrigue was able to gain access to the Mountain Speakers room, they would know that this was in fact no god. The mountain speaker is a relic from an empire long gone, the Regnumech. This ancient relic has been the god for these people for more than 300 years. What it is scheming to do no one knows and who it once was , that only history knows. What I can tell you is that if this balance shifts and falters in favor of the mountain speaker then devastation may come. At least for now it remains, in a box, hung above the void, waiting to escape its arcane dampening prison from eons past.
