Battlemage's Beacon
Battlemage's Beacon
3rd-level evocation Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (a small silvered beacon, worth at least 100 gold pieces, and a small crystal attuned to the recipient)
Duration: 1 hour
Classes: Bard, Wizard
You create a magical communication beacon that allows for instantaneous two-way communication within a designated network. This network can include up to four recipients, connecting platoons, company leaders, and the headquarters command. Features: You touch the designated beacon, attuning it to the recipient by touching a small crystal to their armor or weapon. Once attuned, they become part of the communication network. While attuned to the network, a recipient can use their bonus action to activate the beacon, sending a short, 25-word or less message to all other recipients within the network. This message can be broadcast to the entire network or sent to a specific individual. The message can be spoken aloud, thought, or even whispered, and it is transmitted instantaneously to all connected recipients. If a recipient is unable to receive the message due to being in an anti-magic field or another ward, they are informed of the failed transmission. The network can include up to four recipients. Additional recipients can be added by recasting the spell and attuning them to the beacon. However, the number of connected recipients cannot exceed four at any given time. The spell has a duration of 1 hour, after which the beacon loses its magical attunement and the network is disconnected. Note: Battlemage's Beacon is a powerful tool for battlefield communication and coordination, streamlining orders and information dissemination between platoons, company leaders, and command. It enhances the knights' ability to respond swiftly to changing situations on the battlefield and improves overall tactical efficiency.
