Manufacturing process

Dungeon's Light Procedure
Prototype Mark I:

1. Obtain a piece of wood, approximately 3-5" in diameter and 8-10" in length.
2. Hollow out the piece of wood.
3. Acquire a piece of rock slightly smaller in diameter than the hollowed wood, and 2-4" length.
4. Transmute the rock into wood, carving and filing it until it fits snugly inside the hollowed piece of wood.
5. The stone will revert to its original element.

Complexity: Simple
Important Alteration:

1. Research Continual Flame to Continual Light spell, 200 gp.
2. Spend 50 gp in Diamond dust to enchant a suitable medium to emit Continual Light.

Prototype Mark II:

1. Hollow out the wood, shaping a C-form edge on one side.
2. Create coverings, either flat or cap-shaped, to hold and guide into place with leather strips.
3. Fashion a wooden peg to insert into the stone and travel along the C-shape.
4. Secure the stone with the peg in place using a leather strap.
5. Positioning the stone with the peg in one end of the C will recess it inside the hollow wood, casting a directional beam of light. Placing the stone with the peg in the other end will allow part of the stone to protrude, casting a 360° light.

Add screw caps to the flashlight. Seek mentoring or apprenticeship for this step.

Add inside padding to prevent light leakage from the C shape.
