Magical Hoverboard
Effect
You imbue a small, flat surface, such as a board or plank, with magical energy, transforming it into a hovering platform known as a magical hoverboard. When you cast this spell, you touch a flat surface within range, causing it to become buoyant and capable of hovering in the air.
The magical hoverboard hovers approximately 3 feet above the ground and can support up to 500 pounds of weight, resembling a sturdy, floating platform. It remains stationary until a creature steps onto it.
While standing on the magical hoverboard, a creature can use their movement to control its direction and speed. However, without an external source of propulsion, the hoverboard remains stationary.
To move the hoverboard, the creature must provide an external source of propulsion, such as wind, a sail, or the creature's own physical exertion (e.g., pushing with a pole or paddling with their hands). When combined with such propulsion, the creature can maneuver the hoverboard in any direction at a speed of up to 30 feet per round.
If a creature, having used an external source of propulsion, finds themselves higher than 3 feet above the ground and they have built enough momentum (e.g., from a jump), they must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a success, they avoid falling prone and taking falling damage. On a failure, they fall prone and take normal falling damage.
The magical hoverboard lasts for the duration of the spell or until it is dispelled. If the hoverboard's surface is damaged or altered in any way, the spell ends prematurely.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the duration increases by 1 hour for each slot level above 2nd.
