Sailing the desert
Men has found a mean to move quickly over the desert lands. Mixing a flat bottom boat, with sails and magic gives the means to move floating on a cushion of air and magic.
The flatbottomed construct is somewhat looking as a boat, the wide beam and long keel will offer a somewhat stability when the wind rises. Surrounding the construct, are a number of struts 4-6-8 with a gem/crystal at the tip. They've been charged with magic and will lift the construct of the ground, effectively reducing the drag and resistance of normal vehicles moving across land. A sail catches the wind and pulls the whole thing along the course set.
Pending the build and purpose of the craft, it will be of varied size. Perhaps it has some quarters for crew and passengers, perhaps it has tie down points for a load of cargo. This all will keep the whole thing low and sleek to the ground, keeping the stability and air resistance in regards.
The cheaper and pre-magic version of this uses a mixture of crystals and skis to lift the construct of the desert sand. Problem with this is that the sand effectively becomes a rather effective sandpaper over not so long distance and speed.
