Mrs. Racquel Vera Donnelly- Kline (a.k.a. Vera)

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

There are a few drawings of her and they depict her as being old and frail. It is assumed that these drawings are from her final years but they are not dated or signed.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

During the before time she worked as the personal secrtary for a businessman. She was married and had several children, but her family died in the Fall.

Accomplishments & Achievements

She is given credit for establishing the New Medical Library at Camp Hope. It was her organizational skills that allowed for the sorting and restoring of the books that were collected and brought to the library. She also wrote numerous volumes herself. She wrote about her life as well as anything that she could recall from the Before Time. This often was mundane information like how to make a good cup of tea, but it was also detailed notes on how to set up systems for keeping a person organized.

Intellectual Characteristics

She was known as a bitter woman who was brusk and blunt when speaking with others. But she was also very intelligent and willing to teach anyone anything that she knew. She strongly believed that knowledge needed to be shared and to be stored so that it could be saved for the future of humanity.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

She believed that the books were more important than anything else. Without the books, there would be no way for Humanity to reclaim the knowledge that they had lost during the Fall. Because of this, she felt that the books were more important than evern the people living in the camp. Without knowledge the goal of the camp was nothing more then an empty dream. And without the books there was no knowledge.
It's going to take a long time to relearn everything that we've lost and the only way that we can do that is if we read every book we can find. Our Humanity is hidden in the pages of those books.
-Racquel Vera Donnelly

Reign

She ran the library from the time that she started collecting the books to the time that she passed. No one ever thought of taking the position while she was still alive despite her struggling with her duties and needing assistance in the last few years of her service.
