Elidore Sterling
Human, Explorer - Born to a wealthy family, Elidore Sterling was destined for great things. Born in an unknown city on the continent of Pallidon, he received the best education and opportunities one could be provided. After quickly attaining fame as a compitent military officer and explorer, he became involved in expeditions in Pallidon and Alteria. He played an important role in the conquest of what is now Luxsport, but is best known for leading the first Valo expedition deep into the territory of the modern-day Alteria. He is the first Valorian documented as having crossed the Arin Sea.
Sterling's expedition was a vast undertaking. It ranged throughout what is now the western Free Cities, both searching for gold, which had been reported by various river tribes and earlier coastal explorers, and for a passage to eastern Alterian coast. Elidore Sterling is believed to have died on the banks of the river that would eventually bear his name; different sources disagree on the exact location, whether it was what is now Lake Kweor, Mountbatten, or somewhere further upstream.
