High King Regnerus Skåne
Oathsworn, King of Utara - Was born into Clan Vallan nearly 60 years ago, as the only child of Ryng and Alleria Skåne. Not much is known of the King’s youth, but what is know is that he received the best training in battle, tactics, and speaking that those in Utara could receive. At 17 his father Ryng and mother are both killed in largescale battle with corsair invaders, whereupon Regnerus is elevated to the Utara kingship His first deed is the defeat of the Norbridge Warchief Fro, who had immediately challenged him to his newly acquired throne. After several yeats of solidifying his hold on the Kingdom, he meets a shield-maiden Ladgerda. Eventually leading to marriage, they sired three children; Ubbe, Esbjørn, and Hama.
During his reign Regnerus has led several expeditions to Alteria and Pallidon. This has led to respect from the several leaders in these continents due to his even demeanor and speech. Two decades ago, Ubbe, revolted against his father at the instigation of his maternal grandfather Esbjørn, leading to short-lived civil war. Ubbe could only be defeated and captured with utmost effort. Ubbe was ultimately able to escape captivity and fled toward Pallidon, never to be seen again.
Since his victory in this civil war, Regnerus Skåne has ordered seaborne expeditions as far south as the Dead Peninsula and Ahkua. The denizens of the Dead Pininsula have an intense hatred of Utara due to their limited, but intense, battles on sea and land. It is believed agents from the dark lands have, at several times, incited the clans to rebel, but have been regularly defeated.
