In 662, the machinations of a young, ambitious Darkson noble came to a head. This individual had courted the favor of isolationist and zealous politicians within the Empire and convinced them to join him in overthrowing the Emperor. In a swift and bloodless coup, they were proclaimed the new emperor by an overwhelming majority of the Darkson political enclave.
