Pale Hearts

The Pale Hearts are given by The Pale Lord to specific mortals that he is interested in. They are symbiotes that replace the Heart and can create hard constructs and enhance the body in exchange for the host's lineage. Following the birth of the host's eldest post infection, the Heart will reproduce and infect the host's child. It is capable of doing this once.
Though each Heart has its own personality and preferences of constructs, all Hearts are actually just the Pale Lord himself. At all times, the Heart is spying and influencing the infected mortal to further the Pale Lord's rule of existence in microscopic ways.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A Pale Heart is composed of pale cells, which flow through circitory system, can become as hard as diamond, and can become other types of cells to aid in repair. Replacing the heart, or its equivalent, Pale Hearts control the circulation and nutrient absorption.
