Clocks & Crafting

Clocks

A clock is a segmented-circle designed to keep track of progress or the passage of time. As the clock progresses, segments are filled and once every segment is filled the clock’s goal has been met. The length and/or complexity of the goal is represented by the number of segments; the more segments, the more time consuming or complex the goal is to achieve.

Crafting

Any piece of equipment in Dead West can be crafted by a drifter as long as they have two things: the downtime to work on it & its blueprint. A blueprint provides you with key information needed to craft the item including its traits and crafting clock.

Filling a Crafting Clock

To begin filling the segments on a crafting clock, first the Marshal will tell you a key step to the process. It is then up to you to decide on how to fulfill this step. Depending on your approach, the Marshal will call for an action roll and each 5 or 6 counts toward filling a segment at a max of 3 segments. Once every segment is filled, the equipment is successfully crafted and operable.
