Creating a Drifter

To create a drifter in Dead West, you simply need to complete the following six steps:

1. Choose Your Name & Look

First, choose a name for your drifter. A first and surname will do, but some drifter's have their own title or nickname. Next choose the drifter's look. Feel free to be as detailed as you want for yourself, but be sure to pick three adjectives that best describe your drifter's looks and demeanor and place them on your character sheet. For help in deciding a name or look check out the following page.

2. Choose Your Past

Now, choose your drifter's Past. This determines what your character's life was like before they took on the path of a Drifter. Each Past comes with a couple of skill proficiencies related to their lifestyle as well as a Past Feature that must be written on your character sheet.

3. Choose Your Aspects

Once your drifter's past is chosen you'll need to fill in their aspect proficiency levels. You begin with three points that can distributed however you choose between the three aspects. However, no aspect can exceed a proficiency level of 2 during character creation. You will have the opportunity to increase the proficiency level of your drifter's aspects as you earn experience points and level up.

4. Choose Your Skills

Next you'll need to fill out your drifter's skill proficiency levels. You begin with X points to distrbute however you want, but, like aspects, no skill can exceed a proficiency level of 2 during character creation and as you level up you'll have the opprotunity to increase your skill's proficency level.

5. Choose Your Features

Now that your drifter's proficency levels are set, it's time to pick your drifter's features. Choose two from the following list, but keep in mind every feature has a required proficiency level that must be met before it can be chosen.

6. Choose Your Equipment

Last, you'll need to pick your drifter's equipment. You have X bucks to start with which can spent however you want on equipment. Any unspent bucks are added to your character sheet.
