Drifters

The term “drifter” has changed quite a bit since the Western Expansion. Once a slur, it is now used to describe those brave enough or foolish enough to venture outside civilized society and through the Wildlands. Most won’t venture more than a few miles beyond Fytech towers and with the Baron’s heavy regulations on who can use the railway and what for, Drifter work of all kinds is always in need whether it’s transporting some not-so-legal fyrite or tracking down a gang of notorious outlaws. While you would think this would come with a respectable reputation, opinions on Drifter vary wildly across Deadwood, especially amongst those trying to uphold the Baron’s strict regulations. While it isn’t illegal to venture into the Wildlands, Drifters often work around laws meant to maintain the Baron’s oppressive control. As a result, his forces are constantly attempting to squash any attempts or ideas of Drifting.
