Ignus Canal

The true reason Panamax exists, the Ingus Canal provides passage between Lake Encarthan and The Uncharted Seas.

Purpose / Function

This passage allows for ships to travel from Daval  to Hartan  and vis versa.

Architecture

The lock canal design is manned by thousands of penal workers. The mountain river sits a few hundred feet above the ground river making a series of locks necessary increasing the workload. These locks are filled with water by a series of pumps that are manned by wheels of pain.

History

After attempts were made to circumnavigate a seemingly unnavigable aquatic rout to the rest of Cheliax ending with no less than fifteen lost ships and two missing admirals the decision to 'lessen' criminal sentences via the creation of a penal colony/canal was made resulting in what most consider a death camp.
