Timber Wolf

Rocky Mountain Timber Wolf

The northern Rocky Mountain Timber wolf preys primarily on the bison, elk, the Rocky Mountain mule deer, and the beaver, though it is an opportunistic animal and will prey upon other species if the chance arises. But, for the most part, small prey animals do not make up a large part of its diet. The Timber Wolf is native to the Cumberland Forest and the Grizzlies. Both gray wolves and eastern timber wolves live in packs consisting of two or more individuals. These packs may consist of up to two dozen members. Wolf packs usually consist of only one breeding pair, their offspring and other wolves with which they may share a family relationship.

Hunting Tips

Their vicious nature means that long range weapons are best to take them down. Rifles and a Bow with arrows are considered to be the best weapons to kill or wound a wolf. A good pelt can be sold to traders for a good price. Their hearts can also be used for crafting, and their meat can be consumed.
