Collapse of the Central Island Government

Disaster / Destruction

327TA
23/4

Pirate Queen Morgana and Anarchist Howard Winwright both cooperated on Anwon 12th, 327 TA to strike a crippling blow at the Central Island Government. They planned to assassinate then-leader of the navy Annin Plutark. Though unsuccessful, Plutark committed suicide days after the attack. A month after Plutark's death, the government fell apart, as its remaining members feared death via assassination.

With the appearance of Pirate Queen Morgana and the surge of activity within the growing First Anarchist Movement, the Central Island Government was out under increasing stress. The Chief Admiral of the navy, Annin Plutark, focused too much on trying to protect the inner islands from violent pirate raids, rather than amassing his forces at Port Brimsey.   On Anwon 12th, 327 TA, pirate Queen Morgana and Anarchist leader Howard Winwright devised a little-known plan. The two would cooperate to take down the government. Namely, Morgana's pirates would raid the Southern districts of Port Brimsey; while Winwright and his group would aim to bomb parliament and assassinate Annin Plutark. While Morgana's pirates were successful in causing chaos, Winwright did not succeed in killing Vanin Plutark.   Less than a day later, however, news would arrive for Plutark: his only daughter had been targeted as part of the raid, and had been killed. At this information, Plutark retreated into his quarters for three days. By the end of the third, he was found dead by suicide. With the head of the military dead, the government lacked protection. Many of the Senators were then killed over the following month, both to the anarchists and pirates, as well as to their own citizens who turned to thievery and burglary.   Thus, a month later, the Central Island Government fell into complete inactivity. The organization was effectively destroyed.
