"Eldest and firstborn are the mighty Domvari, masters of their crafts and lords of the world. From them we learned all our arts, and living among them, we were immortal and free from sickness." ~The Account of the Domvari
Additional Information
Social Structure
Illos, the Domvar of Foresight, is their king and his wife Vanaya, Domvara of Nature, is his queen. Together, they reign absolutely and justly over the others. There is also a council of the other eleven Domvari, the Powers, and these hold offices of nobility over less powerful members of their race.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
The Domvari primarily inhabit the City of Urba, on the great island of Arnëa to the West of Jun'Ashar; some inhabit or have seasonal abodes in other locations around the world, such as Mona who dwells beside the River Llun, and Nêrtsos who abides in the grim halls of Mjölgart.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The Domvari inherited the bulk of the powers endowed to the Primordials, and since their bodies are of purest crystal, their immeasurable souls do not burn them out like those of the Morai.
Civilization and Culture
History
The Domvari were the first children of the Primordials to awaken, in the first year of the Age of the Domvari, and are responsible for many of the miracles in the world of Deia. Vanaya, it was, who made the plants and the animals of the world, after a contest with Aesteros for what form the world should have. The latter was given the consolation of building their great city, Urba, for his skill in craftsmanship was unmatched. The Domvara Sunaria discovered the Sun'Shönai, and let them dwell with her, and the Domvari fought alongside them against the Orikai in the First War and the Daemon War. Before the First War, it is now known that some of the Domvari fell to the will of Chaos, and took mastery over the Orikai. During the Daemon War, the Domvar of Warriors, Belligos, fell to the Daemon Thauros, but was avenged by his brother Nêrtsos, Domvar of war and death. Nichtos, Domvar of Subterfuge and brother to Nêrtsos and Belligos, put an end to the Daemon Djablos, and the Daemon War ended. It was then that Nichtos began sowing discontent in Sun'Ashar, and drove Ne'ertsos to insanity, leading to the War of Blight which ended the Age of the Sun. The histories of the Domvari largely fall into the background of the histories of the mortal races, with few notable contributions during the Age of War and Age of Silence. A few notable actions during these times involve Rhumenos fathering the first kings of Rhumnaria, Llorelya giving birth to the first high king of the Saxoni, the banishment of Nix from Anglëa by Sunaria, the marriage of Mona to Jonathius I of Lluneria, the actions of Belligos during the Mërian Civil War, the attempted invasion of Mëria by Nêrtsos, the creation of Stehlhal by Ferros, and their actions during the end of the Age of Silence.
