Delirium is a world similar yet different than are own. Like our own it is wealthy in both nature and history. More so, it is a world of both diverse and infinite story possibilities. Here you'll see unicorns grazing in fields fearfully watching for hungry kimeras prowling along forests edges. Whilst there you'll hear talk of shape-shifting spirits that protect the wilderness called Bears, surely just old wife's tails like the house finch, a spirit that protects the house, but could be mischievous when mad or neglected. It's a world were societies grow and develop. Some are small tribes others vast empires. Still others start as small tribes, go on to become vast empires, only to end as distant remnants, barely burning. Perhaps waiting to be sparked anew. History is a theatre, society is the stage, man is the actor. Magic exists so long as wonder and disbelieve exists. Magic, on delirium is entirely dependent on the particular story that is being told. If it's a historical or scientific account magic shouldn't be expected, but if it's a fairy tale, legend, or kids story magic will probably feature heavily. Like our own world, delirium is an extremely large world. It has a large and diverse population. While inspiration is often drawn from history none of these people are representative of people on earth. This means white skin doesn't mean European, black skin doesn't mean African, brown skin doesn't mean Spanish or Indian or whatever, etc. While inspiration is drawn from real cultures none are based on a single culture or even a group of cultures.
