Dragon (drag-on)
Dragons are very powerful and magical creatures. There are several types of dragons, each denoting the dragon's power and type by their color.
Dragons are an ancient race. No species that still exist can claim a longer lineage. All dragons are said to be the descendants of Bahamut and Tiamat, the original two dragons.
Types of Dragons
Chromatic
Chromatic dragons are distinguished by a solid, non-reflective coloring of their scales. They are generally evil aligned, and frequently worship Tiamat, whom they regard as their queen.Red
Red dragons are greedy, chaotic evil creatures, interested only in their own well-being, vanity, and the extension of their treasure hoards. They are supremely confident, being the largest and most powerful of the chromatic dragons. Typically found living in mountain regions, breathing a cone of fire as their breath weapon.Black
Black dragons, sometimes known as skull dragons, are the most vile-tempered and cruel of all chromatic dragons. They are excellent swimmers who normally lived in swamps and marshes, and preferred ambush attacks. They also have a corrosive acid breath weapon.Blue
Blue dragons, or storm dragons, are manipulative, lawful evil dragons who are infamous for their skill at creating hallucinations, and their cruel use of such things. They prefer aerial combat, which allows them to use their electrical breath weapon most efficiently. Blue dragons often live in arid wastelands and deserts. They are the second most powerful of the chromatic dragons.Green
Green dragons are highly territorial, deceptive, forest dwelling creatures who love secrets and intrigue. Although lawful evil, they are duplicitous and cunning foes who love combat. Their breath weapon is a cone of poisonous green gas.White
White dragons, also called ice dragons or glacial wyrms, are the smallest and weakest of the chromatic dragons. However, they are by no means harmless. White dragons are extremely well-suited to their arctic habitat and have excellent memories. They are more feral than other dragons, chaotic evil aligned, and breath a cone of ice or frost. BrownPurple
Purple dragons, also known as deep dragons, are slender, agile creatures who patiently stalk their prey. They live in the Underdark and are rarely found on the surface. Purple dragons are often allied with the drow, and consider themselves rivals of the mind flayers. They are chaotic evil aligned and have a psychic "breath weapon" that confused and disoriented the target.Gemstone
Gemstone dragons, sometimes referred to as gem dragons, are noted by their crystalline scales. They are often aloof, solitary, and self-centered. They spend most of their time on the inner planes.Amethyst
Amethyst dragons are neutral, logical dragons. They have lavender skin and crystal-like scales. Their breath weapon is a blast of concussive force, and they are known to burrow into the ground. They are the most powerful of the gem dragons.Emerald
Emerald dragons are reclusive dragons. They are inquisitive about history, but also paranoid and distrustful of visitors, whom they deter by setting traps in and by their lairs. Their breath weapon is a powerful blast of wind. They have scales in many shades of green, with a scintillating appearance that makes the dragon seem to be in constant motion.Sapphire
Sapphire dragons are territorial, militaristic dragons who normally live in the Underdark. Sapphire dragons consider all evil races of the Underdark to be their enemies. Their breath weapon is a blast of noise that caused panic. Because of their sparkling, multi-blue-colored scales, they were sometimes mistaken for blue dragons.Topaz
Topaz dragons are erratic, antisocial gem dragons who were often selfish and disinterested in things that did not affect them. They prefer to live by beaches, and enjoy the feeling of the sea wind against their faceted, yellow-orange scales.Crystal
Crystal dragons are friendly, curious gem dragons. They enjoy conversing with creatures but sometimes came into conflict with white dragons due to shared preferences in habitat. They are chaotic neutral creatures and have a blinding cone of white light for a breath weapon. They are the smallest of the gem dragons and have translucent, crystalline scales.Obsidian
Obsidian dragons are the most intelligent of the gem dragons, but also the most dangerous. They have smooth, black, glass-like scales that have razor-sharp edges and can breathe a cone of fire. They prefer to lair near volcanoes, and were notable for their psionic abilities.Metallic
Metallic dragons are distinguished by their scales resembling that of various metals. They are generally good aligned creatures, and often worship Bahamut, whom they regard as their king.Gold
Gold dragons are the most powerful and majestic of the metallic dragons. They are wise, lawful good foes of evil and injustice. Gold dragons are very knowledgeable and reclusive. They prefer stone lairs and have a cone of fire as a breath weapon.Silver
Silver dragons are regal, lawful good creatures who often took a humanoid form and lived among humans and elves. Their breath weapon is a cone of freezing cold, and they are normally laired in mountains. They are smart and prefer to not fight unless absolutely necessary.Bronze
Bronze dragons are inquisitive with a fierce appearance and fascination for warfare. They would often seek to fight evil, and would join good-aligned armies in a humanoid form. They are lawful good, living in costal areas, and sported an electrical breath weapon.Copper
Copper dragons are born pranksters, jokesters, and riddlers. They are chaotic good and live in rocky mountains. Copper dragons have an acid breath weapon but prefer to avoid combat altogether, instead taunting and teasing foes until they left.Brass
Brass dragons are extremely talkative and loved the intense heat of deserts. They often engaged foes and friends alike in hours of long-winded conversation. They avoid combat when possible, but would use their breath weapon, a cone of sleeping gas, to subdue foes if threatened. They are the weakest of the metallic dragons, and chaotic good aligned.Mercury
Mercury dragons are creatures of pure myth, or so some have said. No one is quite sure if mercury dragons even exist. Tales spun of the infamous mercury dragons often include unpredictability, confusion, and horror.Platinum
The platinum dragon is the rarest, largest, and most powerful of the metallic dragons. The only platinum dragon ever known to exist is that of Bahamut himself.
