Possumfolk (poss-um-folk)
Possumfolk are a race of humanoid, bipedal possums blessed by the Wildmother. They are often found in the jungle continent of Drudea, a migration to Xegura has lead to possumfolk being found across a few other corners of the world, notably in Melnor.

Social Structure
Possumfolk tend to build their societies around an elder, typically the oldest and wisest of the group. This elder serves as a grandparent figure to most of the other possumfolk.

Naming Traditions
Possumfolk tend to form tightly knit communities amongst themselves, and are wary of outsiders. As such, possumfolk adventurers tend to have two names: one is their possum name, given to them by their families, and the other is a nickname, given to them by outsiders.
Possum names are gender neutral, usually one to two syllables long. Their nicknames may be objects or concepts other adventurers associate them with. Possumfolk consider it the highest show of trust to reveal their possum name to their other companions.

Gender Ideals
Possumfolk do not have a concept of gender ideals in their normal lives, unless otherwise influenced by outsider societies.
