Government

Theocratic Noocracy
The District is organized into parishes, each of which honors a different divine Domain or portfolio element (Law, Healing, Knowledge, Beauty, etc.). Any divine representative of a deity with power over a Domain/portfolio may petition for inclusion in the corresponding parish. Hefty tithes are required to maintain a holy site in the parishes.
The Pantheon Synod is a representative body that governs all aspects of the District. The most powerful priest in each parish is appointed as Senior Assemblyone, with the next most potent becoming the Junior Assemblyone. This leads to a chaotic, sometimes paralytic, political climate in all but the most pressing of issues, which makes the parishes mostly self-governing.

History

Long ago, a war between forces of Heironeous and Hextor led to a treaty, bound by divine oaths, which bound the land underneath the Pantheon District to worship of any gods who could claim and hold it.

Geography

The center of the Pantheon District is a colossal spire of the Old City. The District was originally positioned within the bowl, lip, and walls of a crater caused by some massive force unleashed during the holy war. Since then it has been magically terraformed to suit the needs of the parishes.
