Great Lakes of Destov
The four great lakes of Destov once made it a titan in the fish trade, but since the empire closed its borders in favour of war, the export has stopped. The lakes once made up a natural border between the Destovian Empire and the Kingdom of Dwinleigh, but Destov has pushed their borders forward as they annex town after town.
The lakes are named for four great Destovian emperors from past dynasties. Each of the emperors accomplished great feats, either militaristic or social, and were hailed as titans.
North-East: Lake Yahon
Emperor Rohowuanax Yahon, the dragonborn founding emperor of Destov. The first dragonborn to take a leadership role in a civilization of mixed races, Yahon had to cement his reputation in stone to avoid being undermined by his red skin. Yahon became famous for his diplomatic skills supported by undeniable martial prowess. North-West: Lake Szuna
Empress Oka Szuna defended the walls alongside her fellow soldiers during the siege of Tidely at the peak of the dragon war. She fought toe to toe with Vulcan, the bronze wyrm, and earned his respect as a fighter. She later abdicated the throne after various rumors and accusations of her heritage crumbled the public's trust in her rule. East: Lake Therrus
Emperor Kurtr Therrus' diplomatic skills were unrivaled, and his enemies continuously underestimated him because he was a human, and not a fighter like his predecessors. Therrus single-handedly convinced a massive invading force to turn from the capital walls with nothing but facts and logic behind his silver tongue. South: Lake Zavoyt
Emperor Leonid Zavoyt began the expansionist totalitarian empire that Destov is today. It was under his orders and strategies that the Yuan-ti clans in the mountains were hunted supposedly to extinction, clearing out corruption from Destov's underworld.
