Isles of Knasa
To wrestle with a raging sea each day, tearing from it your next meal; to live in fear and worship of towering volcanoes on the edge of eruption, to draw life from nothing and carve out your existence on a wild land that wants none of it and forge a harmony with that wilderness. That is what it is to live on the isles of Knasa.
The Isles are inhabited by a network of largely isolated tribes and communities. Their population is varied but each species carries a unique connection to the islands, and each finds peace in their own land, or strife in another’s.

Post-Cataclysm
While most of Delvia experienced a reduction or loss in connection to the outer planes of existence from the cataclysm, the isles’ connection to the elemental planes only grew stronger and wilder. It is believed that because the elemental planes, which were four separate realms, fell into the elemental chaos and converged into each other, that their energy was multiplied and transformed. This theory is supported by species of genasi being able to develop elemental powers outside of their birth element, and other species such as dragonborn experiencing an increasing variety of skin colors and abilities in post-cataclysm births.Geography
The isles of Knasa are all active volcanoes. Some of the larger isles are flush with jungle, while others are simply beach and mountain. Towering cliffs and undersea caves make ideal adventure destinations.
Localized Phenomena
The Maelstrom
The Maelstrom is a massive swirling storm that carves a path along the circumference of the world. While it is not specific to the Isles of Knasa, they are the only settlement around Delvia that is affected by it. The storm makes a pass over Knasa once about every 4.5 years. While this does not sound very life-changing, the storm is devastatingly massive, dragging tides out.
