The Changeling
The winter of 422 AC was a dark time for the people of Datfin, fear and paranoia ran rampant through the streets as rumors of a changeling creature swirled about. Changelings were creatures of weird magics, with the power to alter their appearance at will. It can take any face, mimic any voice. Some even steal memories to assume identities. These creatures are rare, born with a will to infiltrate and manipulate people to their nefarious agendas. After months of hunting, the Silver Sun captured the changeling and held a public execution. As they watched a woman hanged by the neck morph into a terrifying human-adjacent creature before their eyes, the people of Datfin cheered. The Salamander
In the summer of 434 AC, forest fires raged in the outskirts of Datfin's territory. A massive beast of flame and claws was preying on farmers and destroying what was left of the coniferous forests in Dwinleigh. The Silver Sun dispatched their best squad, including their leader, Yenkul Wyvernjack, Quiaga Hawklight, Caimorel Fiedlerson, Unaerris Milner, Janlynn Shortankard; and Inreir Tainir, a promising recruit. The detailed events of the encounter are unknown, only that the monster was a salamander, one far larger and more ferocious than any other. Tainir was the only survivor. His account of the battle was hazy, he told the guild that when it was clear they were doomed, Fiedlerson, the paladin, used her magic to send him away. When he returned to the cave where the battle was fought, the salamander had disappeared. The Charlatan
In the autumn of 435 AC, a cleric of an unknown deity came to Datfin, splashing cash and spreading the messages of the "Eon Church". The preacher wound up in debt to most of the casinos in the city, making quite a name for himself as a loud loser. Eventually, the man called Jack hired the Silver Sun to take care of the preacher. The Sun dispatched Atlas Tyche, one of their head hunters. Tyche did his job well, leaving the body to wash up out of the sewers, but he never returned from the job. Rumors say he caught a boat heading south, but he has yet to return.Casino Protection
In this time of strife, the Silver Sun makes extra cash by protecting the wealthy of Datfin's casino industry.
