Sathith: General Overview

It's believed that this land was the first of both Sathith and Leithis. Whether this land was already here, or a fabrication of a dream of the Holy Entities is still unknown. But, perhaps knowing such a thing is beyond you or I. Many have attempted to unravel this question, but every one who attempted, either went mad or searched so far they sought the Dark for answers.   We are not Champions you and I, let alone a Divine Avatar. Perhaps it is best we mortals forget the ambition of ever gaining such insight. Do leave well enough alone, for this land has provided for us graciously. It'd be best we do not poke it for answers. All we can do for it...is defend it from the Dark and its demons.

The Ancient Legends tell that when The Divine Avatars awoke from their slumber came the First Light. It is said that this Light appeared somewhere in the lands of Sathith. And when this Light appeared, that the lands of Sathith were driven of cold and dark, and with the Light was brought forth both light and warmth. With both light and warmth, born from its radiances, was the life of mortality.

A Land Divided

Although Sathith is the smaller of it and of Leithis, it lacks the same unity of its sibling land. Unlike the 6 United Kingdoms of Leithis, Sathith is fragmented in terms of unity. Each of its 19 unique lands is neutral towards each other; hostile actions or intent towards another land are averted due to the Divine Avatars' will.   The lands of Sathith are each unique, boasting kingdoms, peoples, and customs of all sorts. In the past, most lands would do nothing with each other. But with the coming of the Darkness, each land, and its kingdoms, will find that unity is something that will be required to face the adversary even the Divine Avatars dare not dream about.
Travelers from Leithis claim our lands are technologically inferior. They also say that we are much more diverse and that we are culturally superior.

Major Lands

Valethuna

Believed to be where the First Light appeared, Valethuna is a renowned kingdom for both its knight orders and the dwelling of the Divine Avatar of Gethrynvol. The oldest land of the 19 in Sathith, it is surrounded by mountain ranges and filled with lush forests and springs.   After Gethrynvol went into slumber, the Darkness failed numerous times to envelop the land.

Thiryndel

It's said that for warriors and knights that find challenges too easy in other lands, that it's the cold and icy lands of Thiryndel they find themselves venturing to. Home to the Divine Avatar of Vashaska, Thiryndel is under constant threat from the Darkness to the west.

Taleraria

Of the 19 lands in Sathith, Taleraria stands out above all. It's a land heavily influenced by Leithis and willingly disassociates itself with the other lands. The land has no Divine Avatars, nor does it have any knight order. In truth, the land is unknown to many outside it.   Perhaps this is why that when the Darkness emerged, it opened a rift in it, easily consuming a chunk of Taleraria.

Zarintha

A land of hot desert and sand dunes, Zarintha is the most foreign from the others. Rather than having knight orders, the land is home to renowned individual swordsmen and horseback archers.   Deep within the heart of the desert lies the city of Karinsa, where the Divine Avatar of Nyalaferi resides.

Anaria

Renowned for being a land of nobility as well as legendary artisans. Where other lands like to focus on skills on the battlefield, those in Anaria prefer politics and craftmanship.   However, the few in the Anarian Order of Golden Knights are not to be trifled with, having done away with the Darkness and its demons time and time again since its emergence.

Jareen

When the Darkness first arrived in Sathith, it did so in the snowy mountains of Jareen. Even for survival experts that are the knights of Jareen, they find the battle against the Darkness difficult, struggling to protect their lands from the very thing that keeps them warm in the land of everlasting snow.   Many in Jareen have fled, the Darkness emerging and already having taken control of their greatest defense that are the land's mountains. Many doubt the knights' ability to drive out the Darkness; "'tis not a matter of if, but when Jareen is wholly consumed."

Orvum

Often called the Frozen Peninsula, Orvum is a cold and rainy peninsula that is home to overgrown forests. Most would avoid Orvum, the constant rain and chill making life too difficult to live in. But for those in Orvum, such a difficult way of life is worth protecting against the Darkness that comes from the Eastern Seas.

Karvanum

Dividing North and South Sathith is the land of Karvanum. Within its deep and thick forests, one will find the hidden city of Lenvel. Deep within the Lenvel labyrinth resides the Divine Avatar of Kotsuva, protected by her Labyrinth Guardians.   All who wander into the Labyrinth all face the same fate; death at the hands of the Labyrinth Guardians, demons included.

Insheim

All mages of great legends in Sathith share a single commonality: they all studied at the prestigious White Eagle College. Many great mages reside in Insheim, having replaced the ancient knight orders since its founding.   Blade, shield, and arrow are great against a demon, but Insheim Mages find that it's the power of magic that repels the Darkness best.

Dorhim

At the western end of Sathith lies the land of Dorhim. A strange land constantly shrouded in an icy mist, those who have come and returned often find themselves unable to remember much of their experiences in the land.   Most believe this to be the work of a Divine Avatar, but who else could know this truth other than the residents of Dorhim?
