The Wallasey Road

There is a short route between locations in your world. Why does everybody take the long route instead?
The short route between Dursalca and Midhall is known as The Wallasey Road. This mountain path takes 4 days by horse, with 4 camp spots carved out of the mountains. It is known that there are routes off the road that lead down to various coves where smugglers are known to frequent. Due to the lack of proper light, it is not recomended for solo travellers or small groups to go this route.
The alternative path takes 18 days at least, but is marked with arcane lanterns provided by the Academy
