The following fragment was recovered from a Scout Ship ISS 876 "Far Reaches" log beacon found in high orbit around the planet KOI-72e, usually known as "Derkomai." We don't know what to make of it. The rest of the log file was too damaged to be read. ISS archives record the Far Reaches as lost with no contact. Apparently, it crashed on the surface of Derkomai due to some sort of catastrophic system failure or perhaps an attack of an unknown type. Scout ships are engineered to be extremely reliable, so a sudden catastrophic failure seems highly unlikely. And the text at the end of the log was clearly not made by any of the ship's AI's or the commander. Your thoughts?
